Review: Garnier Skin Naturals Summer Body Light Moisturising Lotion

If you want to spot me in a crowd, I'm probably the palest person there.

As much as I love being pale, I find that my skin can look a little pasty at times and borderline a little Casper the Friendly ghost. So when the weather starts getting warmer, I start itching for a bit of a tan, however, my pale skin unfortunately does not tan. Not even in the slightest, my skin's idea of a tan is an off-cream colour and it isn't very flattering either.

I usually am a worshipper of the instant tanner and my absolute hands down favourite is St Moriz Instant Self Tanning Mousse which gives me amazing results. However, I was looking for something that I could apply a little less regularly and with a little less maintenance I saw the Garnier Skin Naturals Summer Body Light Moisturising Lotion on offer in Superdrug and I picked up a bottle for myself.

First thing I noticed about this lotion was the lack of the biscuit scent and I nearly jumped for joy. This lotion has a lovely apricot scent which I absolutely adore and I've noticed it's a smell which remains on your skin, even after the tan has fully developed. For application, I usually apply this cream post shower, having exfoliated thoroughly and applied my Nivea In-Shower Body Conditioner, as I find there is nothing more satisfying than applying this before I go to sleep and waking up looking lovely and bronzed.

The thing I adore about this cream is how nourishing it is, applying it to the skin feels like an absolute dream and it leaves your skin so amazingly soft. The one down side is that the cream is white, which means it is a little difficult to see if you've applied the lotion everywhere. I combat this by using a fake tan mitt over the skin and this has really helped to make sure that I am completely streak free.

As for the gradual tanner, it took about three applications to get my skin to a lovely golden brown. The tan is really natural and considering I am naturally very pale, the result is that I look like very healthy and glowing. The other great thing about this lotion is that you only need to apply it really maybe two or three times a week, depending on how bronzed you want your skin to look. Something else which I am really impressed with is how quickly this lotion absorbs into the skin, that means less time doing the naked dance in your room whilst your tan dries (admit it, we all do it.)

All in all, this is a very low maintenance product that delivers incredible results. This has hands down been an absolute godsend and I know that this product will remain my staple gradual tanner.

You can pick this product up at Boots, Superdrug and Asda for 1/2 price.
