Review: L'Oreal Elvive Fibrology Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner

I'm on a never ending quest to enhance the thickness of my hair.

I saw an advert for the L'Oreal Elvive Fibrology Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner on TV and I thought I'd give it a try. I've always had pretty good experiences with L'Oreal hair products and after doing a bit of research, I thought I'd give the products a go.

L'Oreal has added Filloxane to the ingredients of these products. Filloxane is meant to penetrate the hair fibre and expand from within the hair follicle. This is meant to be a long lasting effect, so you're left with thicker, bouncier and healthier looking hair.

The first thing I really liked about this product was definitely the scent. It has this absolutely gorgeous fragrance which is both floral and fruity, I honestly can't pinpoint what exactly this smells like. It does however smell delicious and is a long lasting fragrance that remains in your hair long after you've washed it.

Both the shampoo and conditioner have a creamy consistency and the shampoo lathers up beautifully. Immediately after shampooing and conditioner, my hair feels soft. I suffer from hair that gets tangled very easily, I've found that the products don't really change this for me. This is probably my only drawback for the product but as this is a thickening duo, it could be that the conditioner isn't as moisturising as others, this is probably due to the fact that this is a thickening duo.

So what's the effect on my hair? Well, when my hair is dry, it feels incredibly soft and my hair looks very shiny and healthy. My hair doesn't feel too weighed down nor does my hair look limp or lacklustre. As for thickening my hair? I wouldn't say my hair's thickness has improved but my hair does look shiny and healthy, even improving the look of the ends of my hair, which is a massive plus for me.

So overall, these are lovely products to use but personally I found that there was no improvement with my hair thickness. They do however leave your hair soft and looking shiny and healthy, which I'd say is pretty great result. These products are also very purse friendly, so if you're hair is needed a bit of a boost then I'd highly recommend this shampoo and conditioner.

So, the quest continues for hair products that will leave me with thicker hair.
