My Summer Drugstore Nail Favourites

Is there anything more satisfying than freshly painted nails?
Painted nails catch your eye, when you wrap your hand round a glass or simply give someone a handshake. They share a little part of you with the people or person you are with, so I thought I'd share some of my summer favourites.

This summer, I have been loving the pastel nail. It screams ice creams, long summery days, flowing dresses and tea light lit evenings.

So without further ado, here they are!

First up is Rimmel London 60 Seconds in Mary Mary Quite Contrary.
After much searching and swatching for the perfect Lilac nail polish, I found this little gem. This is a very pretty colour, it is very delicate and makes your nails look deliciously sweet, almost like a pretty macaroon.

Application takes about two coats to get a solid colour and I found it lasts about five days without chipping. Perfect for those days when you're running around having fun in the sun!

Next is Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Almond

I read about this polish on Vivianna Does Make Up's blog where she wrote that this polish was a dupe for Nails Inc Porchester Square. I loved the colour and I was very curious to try it out.
The polish is a beautiful taupe colour, which creates a gorgeous neutral nail that isn't too beige or pink. Lasting wise, I tried it out without a top coat and had no chips on the nail for about four days.
I discovered Sinful Colors in Boots one day and I was drawn in by the price, perhaps why the brand is called Sinful! I was in need of a white polish and I picked this polish up. The colour is very much snow white and it is a perfect summer nail.
Lasting wise, without a top coat, it probably lasts a few days without chipping but considering the price is so ridiculously cheap, I don't mind at all.

I absolutely adore the colour mint, I've actually become a bit obsessed with it. So, it is no surprise then that a mint polish is gracing this list.
This one by Maybelline is a great product, it doesn't chip easily and the colour is absolutely gorgeous. I always seem to crave ice cream when I wear this polish and I can't help but feel all summery.
Surprisingly for me, I decided to purchase a yellow nail polish a few months ago and I really do love wearing it. I'm not a massive fan of yellow but I was really intrigued about this polish and decided to give it a go.
This is a very pastel yellow which is perfect for the summer months and giving a little bit of sunshine to your manicure (hey, there had to be a cheesy cliché in here somewhere!)

(From Left to Right: Mary Mary Quite Contrary, Almond, Snow Me White, Mint For Life and Unicorn)
I purchased all of these polishes from Boots, although Sinful Colors is not currently on the Boots website, but you should be able to find them in store. These are affordable, adorable and perfect for summer.
What are your favourite summer nails? Let me know in the comments!
