Review: Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm in Demure

I am usually a sucker for a statement lip, give me a bold red or a dark purple any day.

Maybe it is the onset of summer but more recently I have been dabbling with nude-pink lips again, such as my Makeup Revolution Amazing Lipstick in Sweetheart.

I discovered colour balms when I came across the Rimmel Colour Rush Balm which I have in the shade Not an Illusion. So when I was on a naughty shopping session in Superdrug, who currently have a 3 for 2 offer on across their cosmetic lines, I decided to buy myself one of the Revlon ColorBurst balms.

I decided on the shade Demure, which is a really beautiful shimmery pink-nude colour on my lips. First of all, what I immediately loved about this product was the packaging, the gorgeous pink metallic cover, which immediately made me get all unnecessarily excited. Secondly, the colour is gorgeous and I adore the colour on me, it gives me that, "Ooh my natural lips are now enhanced so I'm rocking the natural lip but not natural lip" look.

The product itself has a really lovely mint smell, which I absolutely adore. Alongside that, the product itself is really nourishing on your lips, which is a definite bonus as I am disgraceful at remembering to apply lip balm on my lips.

Lasting wise, it is good but unlike a lipstick, you're not getting the same staying power, I will agree that it does stain your lips and you do retain a little bit of shimmer. It does wear off and requires you to reapply quite frequently, however, my lips do dry out fairly quickly, so I suppose this is encouraging me to take care of my lips.

I love this product and I've been raving about how much I love it to friends, especially the mint smell, which is definitely something I've been showing people. Yes, I am that person who shoves a lip crayon under your nose, but hey, everyone needs to enjoy some minty goodness.

I'm pretty excited to try out other lip crayons by Revlon. Have you tried the lip balms by Revlon or any other brand? Let me know in the comments!

You can buy the Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm at Boots for £7.99 or at Superdrug for a cheeky discount price of £5.99.
