Review: La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo [+]

When I first read about Effaclar Duo, I was highly sceptical about the hype surrounding this product.

When I got round to buying La Roche-Posay's Effaclar Duo after reading review upon review, it was September of last year. I have been extremely lucky so far in my life and I have never had to deal with extremely bad problem skin, aside from the occasional breakout on my chin, nose or t-zone, so I always look for products that would just help clear these break outs up.

La Roche-Posay's Effaclar Duo is an absolute dream and as a new blogger jumping on the Effaclar bandwagon, I am a very happy member. I have never dealt with a product that is consistent and really does help clear up any breakouts or niggling spots. Now, La Roche-Posay have brought out the Effaclar Duo [+], a new formula which has a bit of added oomph, which not only helps clear up breakouts, it also helps clear up any red or brown marks left behind by spots. So far I have had no problems with the new formula and it is working the exact same as the original Effaclar.

The product itself is a creamy gel, that is extremely cooling on the skin with a very fresh scent. It glides on very easily on the skin and absorbs quickly, and does not leave your skin greasy but rather gives a cooling matte finish.

They advise that you apply the product morning and/or evening, I personally use it both morning and evening as I have incorporated it into my skincare regime after I have cleansed. Although, you can use it all over your face, which I tend to do if I am suffering from a breakout, the product also works when applied only to the area which is affected.

One of the best things about this product is that, it works both as a precaution and as a treatment of spots. I have often gone to bed with a potential spot brewing and having applied the product, I wake up and there's nothing there. Believe me when I say that Effaclar Duo has saved the day on many occasions.

The one thing I would say about this product is that, for me, although it says that it unclogs pores, both the original Effaclar Duo and the Effaclar Duo [+] have had no real unclogging abilities on my pores, I still seem to suffer from clogged pores, however, as it helps clear up any break outs or potential break outs, I suppose I can forgive the product for not unclogging my pores.

I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has spot prone skin or suffers from oily skin, you can find this product at Boots and many other online sites such as feelunique and Escentual, at the price of £15.50, although Escentual currently have an offer on the product for £13.15.

For such an amazing product, it is well worth the investment for clearing up annoying break outs and aiding spot prone skin and for me, it is now a product I cannot live without and it is an absolute staple in my skincare regime.
